Social Commerce is the Next Step in Ecommerce
Online retailers are moving to social media to expand their offerings, as many of the platforms now offer some form of ecommerce. Social commerce is the next logical step, letting brands advertise and sell directly on a specific social platform. Facebook recently released its platform, and a mock-up Twitter commerce page has been leaked. With more consumers being influenced by social media, the relationship between consumers and businesses has shifted. Online merchants have come to rely more on social media to drive sales, and while not all social platforms have a dedicated commerce platform, they are definitely in the works.
